The following information is available for public comment now through September 1st, 2021. Interested persons may submit their comments directly to The Exploris Leadership team at email@example.com
August 1st, 2021: As of this date, The Exploris School will be reopening both the middle and elementary school in Plan A starting the first day of school on August 16th, 2021. Our plan will only include option A for students and Plan C will no longer be available. If you or your child is experiencing some hesitations about the current proposal, please reach out directly to firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com. All before and after school care will resume as normal for the 21-22 SY.
In May of 2020, The Exploris School created a Reopening Task Force based on the guidance from North Carolina Department of Public Instruction. This group is composed of school leadership, staff members, board members, and parents all working together to create a system and metric for returning to school safely. The work included the development of the Digital Teaching & Learning Expectations, reviewing the physical space, and developing what a Plan A, B, and C would look like for the 20-21 SY. The resource below outlines the state guidance schools received in regards to reopening.
The timeline and notes are updated at each RTF meeting and posted in the school newsletter as well as by email to all parents. Click on the link below for a comprehensive look for each monthly update. In December of 2020 the Reopening Task Force created “The Exploris School Covid Decision Rubric” to ensure a safe return for students and staff. The document below outlines each checkpoint, the rubric measurement, and the teams decision for returning to school in Plan A or B. Parents still have the right to opt remote only for the 20-21 school year.
