Maggie Gargan holds a BS in elementary education from East Carolina University. She is proud to be the first graduate of Exploris who returned to the school in 2015 as a teacher. Since joining Exploris, Maggie has taught in grades K, 1 and 4. With a certification in K-12 reading, Maggie enjoys sharing her love of reading and writing with her students. She's an avid football fan, especially for the ECU Pirates and Atlanta Falcons. Maggie is the person you want to play trivia with - she's a self-proclaimed pop culture, entertainment and Broadway expert who can recite every lyric from Hamilton, the musical. Maggie has served on the Kaizen and Governance Committees, and makes it a point to attend all Exploris board meetings. Since her days as an Exploris Middle School student, Maggie is a strong believer in the idea that learning happens both in and outside the four walls of the classroom. She embraces the concepts of experiential, hands-on and service learning and values the mission of Exploris and the creativity it allows her as a teacher.
