Dana is passionate about communications, education, environment, and community. Her professional background is in middle school teaching. She holds a B.S. and M.Ed in Technology Education from NCSU, and was a North Carolina Teaching Fellow. Dana taught technology and communications classes in the NC Public Schools for 14 years, and since then has become involved in school, community, and nonprofit communications and social media marketing. She spent the past eight years as an Exploris parent where she volunteered as an Explorations teacher, social media manager, and PTO communications chair and president. Now that her two teenagers are Exploris alumni she hopes to help guide the school into its next era. A North Carolina native, Dana lives with her family in the Mordecai community where she also serves as the communications chair for the Mordecai CAC. She is a certified beekeeper and loves spending time in her yard tending to her bees.
