Carolyn Floyd, Movement Profile Photo

Carolyn Floyd serves as the Elementary Movement Teacher at The Exploris School. She holds a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction and is a nationally certified NFHS Coach. She has completed the Outward Bound Educator Initiative and holds certifications in Neurodivergent Learning, Inclusive Classroom Practices, Leave No Trace Outdoor Ethics, and additional NFHS safety and student wellness training.

Carolyn advances Exploris’ mission through a strong commitment to experiential, kinesthetic, and nature-based learning. She believes students learn best by doing, moving, and engaging with the world around them. By integrating physical literacy, environmental education, and social-emotional development, she creates inclusive, psychologically safe spaces where students feel a sense of belonging and are empowered to grow, collaborate, and thrive.

Outside of school, Carolyn can usually be found chasing adventure with her family — camping under the stars, kayaking winding rivers, trail running through the woods, and saying yes to the next great outdoor experience.
