Jen Christian joined the kindergarten team in 2020 and brings more than 15 years of experience in kindergarten and pre-K education. She is a proud graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies, and received her K-6 teaching license from North Carolina Central University.
Jen is passionate about early literacy and building strong foundational skills for young learners. She is LETRS master-level certified and holds certifications in Wilson Language Fundations (Levels K and 1). In 2022, she was honored to serve as a STEMwork Kenan Fellow, further expanding her commitment to innovative, hands-on learning.
In her classroom, Jen strives to spark a lifelong love of learning. She hopes her students grow not only as readers and thinkers, but also as kind citizens, hard workers, and compassionate members of their community.
Jen is married to a fellow educator, and together they have two children, Colby (Exploris Class of 2026) and Stella (Exploris Class of 2028). Their family lives in downtown Raleigh, just a short walk from the elementary campus. Outside of school, Jen is an avid reader, an aspiring plant lady, and a self-proclaimed terrible cook.
