I am a true believer that education is the pathway to a better world. Originally from Michigan, I moved to North Carolina to start my teaching career, teaching for 5 years in a large public high school. Teaching freshman science courses taught me the importance of the adults who support each child. Knowing I wanted to have a greater impact on the state of education in our world, I studied at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, earning my Masters of Education and my Ph.D. in Education, focusing on Teacher Education and Curriculum. After a brief pit stop working in the Eshelman School of Pharmacy at UNC-CH coordinating educational programs, I excitedly accepted the Director of Resources role at The Exploris School and now serve the Downtown Raleigh area alongside an exemplary group of educators. In my spare time, you'll find me reading, spending time with friends, or catching up on the movies and TV shows everyone is talking about. I live in Garner with my husband, Brandon.
